Woman Sponsors Boyfriend’s UK Trip With Stolen Funds

  A  27-year-old woman, Busayo Alagbe , has been arraigned before the Yaba Magistrates’ Court, Lagos State, for allegedly  forging bank documents and robbing her employer, Bridgeway Ventures, of N4.5m  in the state. Alagbe was charged with three counts bordering on the conversion of employer funds, stealing and forgery. The prosecutor, Godwin Oriabure, said the defendant committed the crime between July and November 2022, in the Gbagada area of the state, adding  that  during interrogation, she confessed to have used the stolen money to sponsor her boyfriend’s travelling expenses to the United Kingdom. Oriabure told the court that the offence was contrary to and punishable under Section 287(b) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015. 2022 17 Edo kidnapped travellers rescued, abductors hold three victims.

  The Edo State Police Command said it rescued 17 kidnapped victims who were abducted along Benin/Lagos Expressway on Sunday. The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, in a statement on Wednesday, said three of the victims were still in the kidnappers den, adding that efforts were on to rescue them and arrest the suspects. He said, “The Edo Police Command, in its efforts to nip in the bud kidnapping and other related violent crimes in the state, on Sunday, November 20, 2022, around 6.35pm, rescued 17 kidnap victims along the Benin-Lagos Expressway, between Ugbogwi and Ohosu communities in Edo State.  “Meanwhile, during the process of head count, it was revealed that three other persons were missing. Wife stabs husband to death over sexual demand.

  A 27-year-old housewife, Odunayo Olumale has stabbed her husband, Olamilekan Salahudeen to death for making sexual advances to her. The incident happened three months after the couple reconciled and reunited following their separation. Speaking in Ibadan while parading the suspect at the Oyo Police Command headquarter, Eleyele, Ibadan, yesterday, Police spokesman, Adewale Osifeso, said preliminary investigation showed that the deceased and his wife returned to their house at Oko-Oba area of Oyo town on the day of the incident after their three-month separation. 37 dies in Borno Auto crash

  The Borno Sector Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Corps Commander Utten Iki Boyi, has confirmed the death of 37 people in an accident along Maiduguri-Damaturu Road. Boyi said the accident involved a Yobe Line bus from Abuja, heading to Maiduguri, and a Yankari Line bus from Maiduguri, en route to Gaidam town. He said the bus from Abuja had a bust tire and collided with the one from Maiduguri.  The FRSC boss explained that both buses were on speed and caught fire after the collision.  Boyi said 37 corpses, most of them burnt beyond recognition, were recovered. Three persons injured, vehicles smashed at Atiku's campaign

  No fewer than three persons on Monday sustained various degrees of injuries in a clash involving Kalare boys and supporters of Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who was in Gombe, for his presidential campaign. In the process, three persons were injured, three vehicles; a bus, a car and one Keke NAPEP windshield were smashed as they were ambushed along Pantami stadium road by thugs. Confirming the clash by Kalare boys with supporters after the campaign Usman Muritala, the Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said he was not aware since he was not included in the campaign planning. “I was not on the podium and was only there as an official of the party so I sat like every other person to watch the whole show. Police Arrest Suspected Car Theif in Abuja

  The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has confirmed the arrest of an armed robber, Isah Akuboh, during an operation at Berger, in the Quarry area of Mpape, Abuja. Kayode Olawale  gathered that Akuboh was among a gang that attempted stealing a Lexus car when a good Samaritan alerted the police. Narrating the incident in a post on Twitter, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, said a locally-made pistol was recovered from Akuboh, adding that efforts were on to arrest other fleeing members of the gang. The post read,  “A gang of armed robbers tried to remove an unregistered Lexus car at Berger, Quarry, Mpape, but a good Samaritan who reasonably suspected their demeanour alerted the police who swung into action. “Our operatives gave a hot chase to the fleeing miscreants, arrested one Isah Akuboh and recovered one locally crafted imitation of an English pistol and three rounds of 9 X 19mm parabellum ammunition. “Investigation is ongoing, and effort ...
